Features
Everything it takes to pay less.
Bin Sifter is built around a simple idea: compare complete, real-world costs on the exact records you want — and never take the buying decision out of your hands.
Exact-pressing matching
An evidence ladder ties each listing to a specific Discogs pressing — barcode, then attributes, then flagged as unverified — so comparisons are like-for-like.
True landed cost
Price + real shipping rules + Washington tax per each store's policy. The ranked total is what you'll actually pay at checkout.
Want-list optimization
Compares whole order plans — cheapest, fewest checkouts, or best returns — across every store at once, not just line-by-line prices.
Runs on your PC
Store lookups happen locally on Windows, so stores see a normal visitor. Your Discogs token never leaves your machine.
You always check out
Bin Sifter fills carts and hands them to you. A human completes every purchase — it can never spend your money.
Editable store database
Shipping, tax, returns and quality notes per store — with tax re-verified each January and conflicting edits flagged for your review.
Single record
Compare one record, every store, at a glance.
Pick a pressing and Bin Sifter lists every store carrying it, ranked by total landed cost. Store and edition names link straight to the source page, availability and return grades are shown, and detected promo codes are applied where the pressing qualifies.
- Sortable table of price, shipping, tax and total
- "Exact pressing" or "any acceptable edition" modes
- In-stock and marketplace-seller filters
Want list
The best plan for the whole basket.
The cheapest way to buy ten records is rarely ten cheapest-single choices. Bin Sifter looks at shipping thresholds and tax across the entire list and lays out ranked plans — with subtotal, shipping and tax broken out — so you can trade a few dollars for fewer checkouts if you like.
- Recommended split, best-returns, and single-store options side by side
- Per-record pressing choices, including preorders and variants
- Import or paste a list, then open every cart at once
Store database
The policies that decide the total.
Behind the totals sits a maintained database of each store's shipping rules, tax status, returns and quality. Verified no-tax stores are flagged, tax status is re-checked every January, and if one of your edits conflicts with verified data, Bin Sifter asks which to keep.
- Around twenty real stores out of the box
- Add your own stores, notes and overrides
- Every policy feeds directly into the cost math
